Track I: Augmented Social Intelligence / Speech Science
This track welcomes research papers and demos of systems that allow cross-fertilization of traditionally different areas that are related to cognitive infocommunications. Both system (e.g. complex integrated solutions and applications) and component (e.g. algorithms and corpora) papers are invited. Papers that integrate more than one proposed topics of the conference in the context of social intelligence and speech science will be especially welcome.

Track II: Cognitive Ergonomics / Human Factors of Infocommunication
We use the broad definition of “Ergonomics” and “Human Factors”, as it can be read in the web site of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA): - in a shortened version: science of interactions among humans and other elements of a system (aka “Human-Machine Interaction”). As it can be read in the referred web page of IEA, “Cognitive Ergonomics” is one of the specializations of the discipline Ergonomics / Human Factors.
A CogInfoCom system is a special Human-Machine System, where not only the Human but also the Machine subsystem itself has cognitive features (i.e. it is able to process information).
So, the scope of Cognitive Ergonomics / Human Factors of Infocommunication track is relatively wide: it can include any human aspects of CogInfoCom systems – e.g., how the cognitive level of interactions among a human and an artificially cognitive subsystem can work; how the demands of cognitive characteristics of humans can be fulfilled by a CogInfoCom system.

Track III: Vision-based Human Computer Interaction
Cooperation in Human and Computer Saliency estimation is a rather challenging area nowadays. Computational models combined with eye tracking technology allow us to build and evaluate models considering saliency estimation. This task is multi-disciplinary: it requires knowledge about computer vision, neurobiology and psychophysics. The field has been faced with the requirement of teachable computer algorithms. New automated interfaces may also be important in the medical sciences, video surveillance systems and adaptive advertisement tables.

Track IV: Ethological Aspects of Communication between Heterogeneous Agents (previously: Ethology-Based Communication)
Communication is an integral part of human-machine interaction, and has been dominated by psychological theories, including the problem of linguistic exchange. More recent research however is looking at other biological models for inspiration for example, how members of different animals (including man) communicate who lack language. In this kind of communicative interactions different behavioural modes play an important role which could be novel insights how communication between heterogeneous agents could manifest. One of the key models for inspiration is the human-dog interaction in which a complex system of visual and acoustic signals are utilised.

Track V: Cognitive Mobile Applications and Services
Mobile phones and tablet devices have become an everyday tool for people who are looking for an easy way to connect to the Internet, download social content, find interesting places and so on. It can be observed that mobile technology has become one of the most important field in the IT industry as web technology was 10-15 years ago. These devices usually have several sensors and interfaces like accelerometer, camera, GPS, thermometer, etc. that allow them to interact with the real world easier. Agents hosted by mobile devices that learns from the various sensor-originated information support individual applications and complex systems as well.
Nowadays mobile phones are used by different people in a wide range of situations. The key advantage of mobile phones is based on the several applications that are available from the different mobile markets. These applications are easily accessible by everybody and sometimes they are used creatively in situations that they were not designed for. Therefore the human factor is very important in case of mobile applications and services.
In this track we are expecting papers that discuss the cognitive capabilities of mobile phones, different agents that mobile devices can host, and how they can be applied efficiently in applications and services including also the social aspects of mobile solutions. Papers about mobile controlled environments, mobile-supported learning, augmented reality, energy efficiency and communication techniques are also welcome.

Track VI: Communicative Social Signals: Computational and Behavioural Aspects of Human-Human and Human-Machine Interaction
This track aims at gathering original works on behavioural analysis of human interaction, - that consider the amount of information conveyed by static and dynamic communicative social signals such as facial and vocal expressions, gestures, gaze, body movements - and the theoretical and computational issue of defining algorithms, programming languages, and deterministic models for their recognition, synthesis, and exploitation in the implementation of cognitive info-communication systems, such as advanced interactive dialogue informatic systems and intelligent avatars. Data on communication, actions, perception, and emotion will be discussed both from an experimental and theoretical points of view in order to provide computational paradigms to implement trustful, credible, satisfactory and emotionally coloured multimodal communication and info-communication systems

Track VIII: Visionair Project
This track would like to introduce the cognitive infocommunications-related results related to the Visionair project. Visionair is an acronym for "VISION Advanced Infrastructure for Research". Visionair creates a European infrastructure for high level visualisation facilities that are open to research communities across Europe and around the world. By integrating existing facilities, Visionair aims to create a world-class research infrastructure for conducting state-of-the-art research in visualisation, thus significantly enhancing the attractiveness and visibility of the European Research Area (ERA). With over 25 members across Europe participating, VISIONAIR offers facilities for Virtual Reality, Scientific Visualisation, Ultra High Definition, Augmented Reality and Virtual Services. The Resources E-map provides an opportunity to view the capabilities of each VISIONAIR partner. This track contains demonstrations as well.
Cognition is the natural target of visualization and interaction technologies as provided within VISIONAIR. Communications and Information are obviously the main medium to solicitate cognitive understanding. The track may focuss on proposal where Visulization and Interaction support a better communication of information for a better understanding by final users.

Track XI: DOMEO Project
DOMEO, an AAL Project, focuses on the development of an open robotic platform for the integration and adaptation of personalized homecare services, as well as cognitive and physical assistance.
This track focuses on the results of project participants in the field of social robotics: the cognitive assistance in homecare. Two presentations will analyse multimodal user interfaces and the intelligent techniques how these can be used for person and activity recognition. Another two presentations will summarise the experience of users and caregiving personnel during the home deployment of the Kompai social robot for telecare service in France and doubt removal/companion services in Hungary. Session I: Human-System Interaction
This session aims at gathering original works related to all technological aspects of Human System Interaction from the devices to the models of the interaction. Devices of interaction cover areas from haptic devices through recognition of human action to the application of human oriented languages in human-machine dialogues. The area of natural language interfaces includes the development of language processing modules to transform the incoming free text into module level commands. The interpretation of free text requires the knowledge of the context and the management of semantics for command processing. The appearance of behavior models can also extend the Human System Interaction to the levels of recognition or invocation of human emotions.

Session II: Human Auditory and Spatial Cognition
The session presents results from experiments and computer modeling data on auditory cognition and auditory-visual integration of spatial information. The aim of the session is to present empirical data on how the human auditory system derives the representation of the two most important features of auditory objects: their spatial localization and their identification. The session also presents a demonstration of a model that generates auditory object representations based on competing sound features.

Session III: Theoretical Aspects of Cognitive Infocommunications
The goal of this session is to investigate ways in which the terminologies of various related fields (e.g., cognitive sciences, ethology, information sciences) -- which at times reflect both contradicting and overlapping points of view -- can be unified in the context of CogInfoCom, with special focus on iconic and message-like elements of CogInfoCom channels.

Session IV: The structure of multimodal communication: principles vs. optionality
An introduction to the HuComTech multimodal database
The papers of this section give an overview of work done by the HuComTech research group and outline future perspectives. The approximately 60 hours of multimodal dialogues on Hungarian material are annotated for video and audio from a number of perspectives, some of them novel in the field, including both multimodal and unimodal pragmatic annotation, an annotation of spoken syntax and its alignment with prosody labeled both automatically and manually. The findings are expected to be important for computational linguistics, human-machine interaction and cognitive-psychological studies of communication.
